  • Come celebrate the Hindu festival of harvest, Sankranti, and learn about ways we can conserve the environment on January 30th from 2-4PM. We're planning on raising money to donate to a local food pantry as well as canned food, as the service portion of our event. For the education portion of the event, we will have an educational activity where the audience can learn how environmentalism ties into Sankranti. For our event, we are having UT professor, Dr. Cons, speak at our event about environmentalism and his work in the field. We are also streaming three documentaries followed with discussion in partnership with some environmental organizations on campus. We're working with Coloring Environmentalism as well as the Environmental Justice Collective on the documentary section of our event. Our event will be closed by a virtual performance from Texas Bhangra.
